Earlier, we had reported that superstar Rajinikanth has been invited to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony on May 31st in Mumbai. And now, Rajinikanth himself has confirmed the news when he met the media outside his house at poes garden o Tuesday. Speaking to media, Rajinikanth answered questions regarding Modi's victory, Anti-Modi wave in Tamil Nadu and many more.

About Narendra Modi's victory,

"In Indian politics, a party's victory is based on its leader at any level and a leader should be charismatic. In India, if you see, there was Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Vaj Payee they are all charismatic leaders who had success. In Tamil Nadu, leaders like Kamarajar, Anna, Kalaingar, MGR, Jayalalitha are the charismatic leader. similar to these people, Narendra Modi is a charismatic leader facing success." 

When asked about attending Modi's swearing-in ceremony and about an alliance with BJP, Rajinikanth said,

"I am just going to the event as a courtesy and nothing can be decided as off now."

About Union Minister Nitin Gadkari's word about linking Godavari-Krishna rivers to solve the Cauvery issue,

"I appreciate it. Even though BJP lost in Tamil Nadu, Nitin Gadkari has spoken about the project. It a good thing."

About Anti-Modi wave in Tamil Nadu,

"In India, except Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, all the other states are under Modi wave. In Tamil Nadu, it is under Anti-Modi wave. In politics, parties who go on with the wave had tasted success and the one who goes in the opposite direction have faced defeat."

About BJP's loss in Tamil Nadu,

"Issues like Methane project, Hydro Carbon Project, Neet, Sterlite and the opposition party's strong election campaign were the reason for BJP loss Tamil Nadu"

Rajinikanth will also be travelling to Mumbai in a day to begin the second scheduled of hir upcoming film with director AR Murugadoss that is titled Darbar. Rajinikanth plays a cop in the film and the movie is touted for a grand Pongal 2020 release.
