One of the biggest films in the making, ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth’s Darbar will see him in the role of a top-ranking police official and has been announced to be hitting theatres worldwide on January 9, 2020 as a massive Pongal treat. Being produced by Lyca Productions with music by Anirudh Ravichander, the film’s motion poster featuring the ‘Thalaivar’ theme was released a few days back to a thumping response from fans everywhere. With Lyca Productions announcing earlier this week that an update on Darbar songs will be out officially in the next few days, it has now been revealed that Rajinikanth’s intro track in the film sung by six-time National Award-winning singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam is titled ‘Summa Kizhi’. This will be a reunion for SPB with Rajinikanth and Anirudh after their smash hit ‘Marana Mass’ song in the grand hit, Petta, earlier this year. The ‘Summa Kizhi’ track’s title was already teased by Anirudh in a subtle manner on his social networking pages when the Darbar motion poster was launched.

As for the Darbar audio and teaser, we had a while back revealed through our sources that plans are on track to get them released in the first week of December and an official statement on the same can be expected in the days ahead. The film has a mighty big star cast among whom are Nayanthara playing the female lead, Bollywood actors Suniel Shetty and Prateik Babbar as the antagonists, actress Nivetha Thomas and comedian Yogi Babu in vital supporting roles. Darbar will incidentally be the first time in almost 28 years Rajinikanth is going to be seen on the big screen as a police officer after Pandyan in 1992.
