Veteran actor Sheela is a popular actor who has predominantly worked in Malayalam, Tamila and Telugu movies. She is vastly known to the Tamil audience because of the character Akhilandeswari, a negative role in Rajinikanth Chandramukhi. She has earlier written and directed Yakshagaanam and Sikharangal. And the latest news is that she will be donning the filmmaker cap very soon. Apparently she has completed the pre-production of the movie, that comprises the scripting, screenplay and the shot divisions. Sheela has also said to have contacted a production house and that the producer is concerned about the star cast of the movie.

Sheela has been one of the most celebrated actors in the history of the Malayalam movie industry since the time she debuted. Interestingly, she debuted in cinema in the early 1960s, with MGR starrer Tamil movie Paasam. Later, she was launched into Malayala cinema through P. Bhaskaran's directorial Bhagyajathakam.

Sheela also holds a Guinness World Record for acting in the largest number of movies alongside the same hero, late Prem Nazin, that counts around 130.
