Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru will be director Rajesh's first film without Santhanam. Rajesh-Santhanam duo is one of the celebrated combination in Kollywood. At a recent press meet, the director himself revealed the reason for not casting Santhanam in the film. "He has acted alongside almost all the top stars, it is time for him to go to the next level. He has already decided that he would do only hero subjects and I absolutely respect his stand," Rajesh said and also revealed that he would soon do a film with Santhanam as the hero.
