Director Gautham Vasudev Menon's first film after a gap of almost three years, Enai Noki Paayum Thota, hit theatres last week and took a huge opening. The director’s Dhruva Natchathiram with ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram is said to be completed and the trailer for his Joshua - Imai Pol Kaakha starring Puppy actor was unveiled on the eve of ENPT’s release with the film on track to come out on February 14, 2020. That said, there is quite a lot of buzz surrounding GVM’s Queen, the web series based on former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa. Gautham Vasudev Menon has directed it along with director Prasath Murugesan of Kidaari fame and Ramya Krishnan cast in the titular character as Shakthi Seshadri (fictional name) while Viswasam and Yennai Arindhaal fame Anikha Surendran will be seen as the younger and school-going version of Shakthi and up-and-coming actress Anjana Jayaprakash of Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru fame has been cast as Shakthi in her teenage years.

The first Queen trailer released yesterday (December 5) on the occasion of Jayalalithaa’s third death anniversary has received a phenomenal response from viewers, who have been lauding Gautham Menon, Ramya Krishnan and the entire team for their effort. Now, a surprise second trailer for Queen in Tamil & English has been released on the MX Player YouTube channel and has plenty of new footage that wasn’t shown previously.

Apart from Ramya Krishnan, Anikha Surendran and Anjana Jayaprakash portraying the character across different time periods, Malayalam actor Indrajith Sukumaran, Vanitha Krishna Chandran, Viji Chandarsekaran and Sonia Aggarwal will be seen in major starring roles in Queen. Music has been composed by Darbuka Siva with cinematography by Velraj, S.R.Kathir, and Manikandan and a total of 10 episodes will begin streaming from December 14.
