Dhanush's next big release would be Jagame Thandhiram and the fans are excitedly waiting to witness the film. Had the situation been normal, the film would've released on May 1, but due to the unexpected outbreak of Coronavirus, the release has been indefinitely postponed. One is not sure when the theatres will reopen and we will have to wait for a few more weeks to get a better clarity on that. Meanwhile, there have been numerous speculations regarding the release of Jagame Thandhiram and a section of media had reported that Dhanush has agreed for an OTT release and the production house is planning to release the film directly on Netflix.

Having said that, one of the fans posted his theory of this situation, stating that Jagame Thandhiram’s producer, Sashikanth is having debts and in order to clear those debts, he is in a situation to release the film directly on OTT. However, Sashikanth denied the news and replied to the fan saying, “Yaemppa .... unnoda tweetukku producera kadanaaliyaakkara ??" (loosely translated as - Why are you making the producer a borrower for the sake of your tweet) .

The fan responded saying that his tweet was based on the news reports carried by a certain media. This tweet from Sashikanth has gone viral among the fans who have taken this tweet as an answer from the production side regarding the OTT release rumours. It looks like the team of Jagame Thandhiram are in plans to release the film in theatres only.

The first single from the film - ‘Rakita Rakita Rakita’ will be released on July 28 for Dhanush’s birthday and the fans are excitedly waiting to listen to this energetic fun number. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Jagame Thandhiram has music scored by Santhosh Narayanan and cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna.

The film’s star cast includes Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Game Of Thrones fame James Cosmo, Kalaiyarasan, Sharath Ravi, Sanchana Natarajan, and others. Dhanush will be seen playing the role of ‘Suruli’, a local gangster in Madurai who travels to London for a mission. Let us hope that the situation gets under control as soon as possible so that people can return to their normal lives and watch movies in the theatres. Check out Sashikanth’s tweet below:
