Earlier this morning (October 20), popular Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran revealed that he tested positive for corona virus. In addition, the Ayyappanum Koshiyum actor informed his fans and followers that he is asymptomatic and requested everyone to stay safe and strong. He also requested the people who came closer to him in the last few days to stay safe and take necessary precautions. Prithviraj was shooting for one of his upcoming films titled Jana Gana Mana and he is said to have contracted the virus in the shooting spot.

Prithviraj shared this news on his official social media page through a statement that read, "Hello everyone! I've been shooting Dijo Jose Anthony's "Jana Gana Mana" since the 7th of October. We had strict protocols in place with regards to Covid regulations and associated safety measures. As is the norm, all involved in the shoot were tested before the schedule started and after the last day of shoot in the courtroom set we had put up, tests were repeated. Unfortunately, the test results this time came back positive and I have gone into isolation. I'm asymptomatic and am doing fine now. All primary and secondary contacts have been advised to isolate and get tested. Hoping to recover soon and get back to work ASAP. Cheers and thanks for the love and concern”.

This news has created a huge buzz on social media and the fans are praying for the speedy recovery of Prithviraj. The shooting of Jana Gana Mana has now been put on hold due to the unexpected developments and it is expected to resume when the situation gets better.

Apart from this film, Prithviraj has various other exciting projects including Aadujeevitham which has music scored by the legendary AR Rahman. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Blessy, Aadujeevitham has a strong technical team that includes KU Mohanan for cinematography, Sreekar Prasad for editing and Resul Pookutty for sound design. The film features Amala Paul as the female lead while the star cast also includes Aparna Balamurali, Lakshmi Sharma, Santhosh Keezhattoor and others.
