It is a known fact that Top Star Prashanth is acting in the Tamil remake of Andhadhun (Ayushmann Khurrana starrer) and it is expected to be an important film in his filmography. Titled as Andhagan, the film will have Prashanth reprising the role played by Ayushmann Khurrana while Simran will be reprising the role played by Tabu in the original. It is going to be quite exciting and refreshing to see Prashanth and Simran together after a long time and the fans are eagerly looking forward to the duo's combination. The shooting of the film has begun today (March 10) in Chennai and the first schedule will take place in the city for the next few days. Looking at the newly released pictures from the shooting spot, Prashanth looks super stylish and his smart makeover garners attention.

The talented actor has undergone training in music for his character in the film and let us hope that the film turns out to be a success. Andhagan was initially supposed to be directed by JJ Fredrick who made his debut in Tamil cinema with the Jyotika starrer Ponmagal Vandhal. He had directed the promo teaser of the film, as well. However, he has now walked out of the project due to undisclosed reasons and he has been replaced by Prashanth's father, Thiagarajan. Fredrick released an official statement regarding his exit from the film and wished the entire team a grand success.

Fredrick's statement read, "Dear All, This is to inform you all that, I'm not directing the film Andhagan & Good luck to the Team, Thank you all for the support and love & Will keep you posted about my next project very soon :) Thanks & Regards, JJ Fredrick". Thiagarajan will now be directing Andhagan and it marks his return as a director after Mambattiyan which released in 2011. It can be recalled that director Mohan Raja was the very first person who was supposed to direct the Tamil remake of Andhadhun, but he was later replaced by JJ Fredrick, who is now replaced by Thiagarajan. Thiagarajan will also be producing the film in his banner of Staar Movies.

Andhagan features a very interesting star cast that includes the likes of Simran, 'Navarasa Nayagan' Karthik, Yogi Babu, Oorvasi, KS Ravikumar, Manobala, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Leela Samson, Semmalar, Poovaiyar, and others. The film's cinematography is handled by Ravi Yadav, while the art direction and costume styling departments are headed by Senthil Raghavan and Uthara Menon respectively.
