In a shocking turn of events, actress Payal Ghosh made an allegation stating that she was sexually harassed by acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker and actor Anurag Kashyap. Payal Ghosh rose to fame after playing the female lead in the 2017 romantic comedy, Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi. She took to her Twitter page to post a tweet about Anurag Kashyap and her allegation has created a huge buzz among the fans on social media. She tagged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested him to take action against the Imaikkaa Nodigal villain. She tweeted, "@anuragkashyap72 has forced himself on me and extremely badly. @PMOIndia @narendramodi ji, kindly take action and let the country see the demon behind this creative guy. I am aware that it can harm me and my security is at risk. Pls help!”.

However, Anurag has denied the allegations as baseless and added that he doesn’t involve in such behaviours with any woman. He posted a series of tweets in Hindi which are loosely translated in English as, “Wow, it took you so long to make an attempt to silence me. Never mind... in a bid to silence me, you have dragged another woman in this, despite being a woman. Please stick to the limits, Madame. All I want to say is all allegations are baseless. Whether it's my first wife or second, or a girlfriend... or all those actresses who worked with me... or all those female colleagues who have been working with me... I don't indulge in such behaviour in public or otherwise. Neither do I tolerate such behaviour. "

While this incident has created a huge outrage on social media, actress Taapsee Pannu came in support of Anurag and called him as the biggest feminist she knows of. She posted a picture of her with Anurag and wrote, “For you, my friend , are the biggest feminist I know. See you on the sets soon of yet another piece of art that shows how powerful and significant women are in the world you create :)”.

Taapsee and Anurag Kashyap are known to have shared a sweet rapport and their friendship is seen through these times. However, we will have to wait for a few more weeks to get a better clarity on this issue. Check out the social media posts below:
