Actor Suriya had announced a few months back that his next production venture under his 2D Entertainment banner would be a film titled, Soorarai Pottru, under Irudhi Suttru fame Sudha Kongara’s direction. With production on the upcoming film progressing at a steady pace, sources close to us have now revealed that Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal has been cast in Soorarai Pottru, which will mark his debut in Tamil cinema. The National Award winner will be playing the role of an owner of an airliner named JAZ Airways and will be appearing as Suriya's chief competitor with his role said to include negative shades.
Soorarai Pottru also includes Aparna Balamurali as the female lead and Karunas in a supporting role with music being composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. The film also has award-winning international stunt choreographer Greg Powell, who is known prominently for his work in notable Hollywood films such as Fast and Furious 6, Skyfall, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (1&2), The Bourne Ultimatum, Lost in Space, to name a few. So far, only one poster for the film has been released, which was unveiled on the occasion of the title reveal a few months back. With many expecting the film to be serve a motivational message, fans can look forward to yet another memorable performance from Suriya.
