Suriya's Etharkkum Thunindhavan which released yesterday (March 10) has opened to a fairly positive response from the masses and the box office numbers are also quite promising. It does look like Suriya is back in the theatrical business in style and it is a hat-trick of hits for the star actor after Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim. Having said that, the film's director Pandiraj shared his heartfelt thanks to the people of Tamil Nadu for acknowledging and receiving Etharkkum Thunindhavan with love.

Sharing his thoughts on the release of ET, director Pandiraj said, "ET has been released on a grand note and it has been receiving positive reviews from all sides. As a creator, I feel happy and elated. The film was made with a noble intention and the audience have recognised it. Despite being a commercial film, we took up an important issue faced by women and it has reached big among the public. Many dialogues have earned the applause of the audience and as a team we are happy. At this moment, I want to thank Suriya sir for being big support throughout this journey.

My heartfelt thanks to the entire cast and crew. Sun Pictures believed in me and gave me the opportunity to direct a film for them for the second time and it has turned out well. Kalanithi Maran sir, after hearing the narration, told me that this film will surely become a blockbuster and it has become true". Etharkkum Thunindhavan features Suriya playing the role of Kannabiran, a lawyer who has to serve as the saviour for the women of his town. The film has Priyanka Mohan playing the female lead and Vinay locking horns against Suriya as the villain.

Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Soori, Ilavarasu, Devadarshini, MS Bhaskar, Pugazh, Ramar, Thangadurai form the supporting cast. The film has music composed by D Imman. Now that ET has released, Suriya will now begin his next film with director Bala.
