Post the rousing success of his Naachiyaar, ace filmmaker Bala had immediately kick-started his upcoming film, Varma, with National Award-winning actor, 'Chiyaan' Vikram’s son, Dhruv, making his acting debut.

Being produced by E4 Entertainment, Varma also has the director of National Award-winning film Joker, Raju Murugan, penning the dialogues with the film’s first schedule recently wrapped up last week in Kathmandu, Nepal.

As known to all by now, National Award-winning filmmaker Bala is officially remaking Varma from last year’s blockbuster Telugu film, Arjun Reddy, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles.

In the midst of this, rumors sprung up over the past few days regarding who would be playing the female lead in Varma. It was being reported that actress Gautami’s daughter Subbalakshmi was the prime contender for the part in the film.

That said, Gautami has now come up with an official statement on her Twitter page saying her daughter is committed at present to her studies and has no plans for acting now.

It must be noted the makers had announced a while back an innovative marketing strategy to cast a heroine in Varma and it looks we will have to have to wait a bit longer to know who the leading lady will be.
