Ninaithale Inikkum music review

Sakthi of Thottal Poo Malarum fame and Prithviraj come together along with Priyamani for Ninaithale Inikkum, the Tamil remake of Malayalam hit Classmates. Both Sakthi and Prithviraj share a good rapport at the shooting spot which shows onscreen. Directed by G.N.R. Kumaravelan. Ninaithale Inikkum is a story about college life and what happens in the lives oftwofriends during the happy period. The cast includes Karthik Kumar, Priyamani and K. Bhagyaraj. Shooting is taking place in a 60-day schedule at Rameshwaram, Karaikudi, etc. Music is by Vijay Antony; camera is by Balasubramaniam; editing is by award-winner Sreekar Prasad.

‘Allah’ the opening number is by Vijay Antony. Though the lyrics resemble the A.R. Rahman number for Vijay’s ATM, eventually the song turns out to be a typical Vijay Antonynumber. Among today's contemporary singers, Benny Dayal excels in being versatile. ‘Nanbanai’ is the sweet melody he has sung for this album. ‘Natkal Nagarndu’ by Kaushik too is a melodic composition. Sung in a soft tone, with natural sounds and a lone instrumental string as its accompaniment, the song lingers on long after it stops. ‘Pia Pia’ by Vijay Antony is a foot-tapping song in the composer’s voice. ‘Azhaghai Pookuthe’ by Janaki Iyer and Prasanna brings back the melodic mood of the eighties. ‘Kalloori’ by Sheba begins with a beautiful riff on the guitar. The song is a rocking solo by Sheba. ‘Sexy Lady’ by Balaji, Ramya and Sheba propagates practical wisdom; the spirit of the song is enlivening.

All of Vijay Antony’s seven songs for Nianithale Inikkum offer a treat for music-lovers.
