The NBA All-Star game had a lot of hype around it and for good reasons. It brought together many OG players like Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Kevin Durant who were seen shooting hoops and slamming dunks. But the most memorable takeaway from this event was the surprise teaser trailer for The Batman which was dropped on screens outside the stadium during the game's weekend.

The trailer starts with The Riddler taking over the stadium's screens by broadcasting a message - UNMASK THE TRUTH. It was followed by the summoning of the Caped Crusader who defied expectations and made his appearance after the bat signal was turned on. 'Vengeance' was very much acknowledged by the Penguin as well as Catwoman. We also get a glimpse of The Riddler once again covered in bandages in order to keep his actual look a secret (for now).

This thrilling trailer has us on the edge of our seats as these are all the little sneak peaks we get until the film's official release. This is the return of The Riddler after Jim Carrey's goofy version in the 1995 Batman Forever starring Val Kilmer as the bat vigilante. This will also mark the first appearance of the Penguin after Danny Devito's take on the character in the 1992 Batman Returns directed by Tim Burton. It will truly be exciting to see the two antagonists return to the big screen after nearly 20 years.

Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, AKA, the Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone. The movie is set to hit the theatres on March 4, 2022.
