Nagpur film festival: Tamil Cinema honoured

The second International Film Festival in Nagpur (Feb 4 to 10) witnessed magical moments this year. This year's international film festival, organized by Nirzar Film Society in association with the District administration and Federation of Film Societies of India, concentrated on popular Tamil movies. Apart from that, they have also showcased movies by director Anant Mahadevan. South Indian sensation Khushboo was the guest of honour at the closing ceremony on February 10, 2011.

>>> Kannaththil Muththamitaal (Feb 6)
>>> Kaadhal (Feb 7)
>>> Saroja (Feb 7)
>>> Thenmerku Paruvakattru (Feb 8)
>>> Naan Kadavul (Feb 9)
>>> Ilangynan (Feb 10)

Director Krishnan Seshadri Gomatam, Anuja Iyer, Sampath, Bharath, Shibu Isaac, Suresh Krissna and Pa.Vijay were the guest of honours. Collector Pravin Darade honoured the Illangyan team and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, who could not make it to the fest.

The festival also honoured director Mani Ratnam for his trend setting films in Tamil Cinema. However the director could not make it to the event and Krishnan Seshadri Gomatam received the award on his behalf.

>>> Best character and charisma (male) - Sampath  for Saroja and Goa.
>>> Best character and charisma (female) - Khushboo  in Illangyan.
>>> Visionary producer - Shibu Isaac for Thenmerku Paruvakattru.
>>> Director with 'perseverance and passion 4 cinema' - Suresh Krissna for Illangyan.
>>> Motivational lyrics - Pa. Vijay for 'Thozha' from Illangyan.
