Director Mysskin recently tasted success with Psycho which turned out to be a hit venture at the box office. The film, which starred Udhayanidhi Stalin, Aditi Rao Hydari, Nithya Menen, Rajkumar in the lead roles, was applauded and praised for its strong writing, gritty filmmaking and top-class performances. Up next, he is committed to doing films with Arun Vijay and STR. Post the lockdown, Mysskin will start work on his film with Arun Vijay and this untitled movie will be an intense action thriller. When STR completes his current commitments including Maanaadu and other projects, his film with Mysskin will go on floors.

Meanwhile, the official announcement about Mysskin’s next film has been made. However, this time the acclaimed filmmaker will not be wearing the director’s hat. He will be presenting this film, which is to be produced by Sri Green Productions, in association with Malik Streams Corporation. Mysskin’s brother G.R.Aathityaa, who made an impressive debut with the black comedy thriller, Savarakathi will direct this new film.

Titled as Pitha, this film is said to be an emotional journey of a father in search of his lost daughter. Pitha will feature popular producer Mathiyalagan (of Etcetra Entertainment) playing the protagonist, as the father. Notably, Mathiyalagan will be making his acting debut with Arun Vijay’s Boxer (also featuring Ritika Singh) and he’d be playing the antagonist in that film. The announcement about it was made a few days back.

Apart from Mathiyalagan, Pitha will feature ‘Miss India’ Anukreethy Vas, Kalaiyarasan, and Ramesh Thilak in supporting roles. The makers are yet to finalize the actor for the daughter role. Details regarding the technical crew is also yet to be known and we will update about it in the coming days. The film was officially launched this morning (July 6) in a low-key event and the shooting is expected to begin as soon as the permission is granted by the Government.

The title look poster has also been released and it gives a breezy feeling. Going by this poster, it looks like the film’s story is set in the backdrop of a hill station. With a promising team onboard, we can expect Pitha to be a quality product that will satisfy the audience. Director G.R.Aathityaa took to his Facebook page to share this good news with his followers and well-wishers. Check out the post below:
