The Oscars saw the audience all light up and surprise to have an unexpected guest.

Well it was non-other than U.S first lady Michelle Obama, whose presence added on to the glitzy event. She was there to present the Academy award for the Best Picture. On the live screen, even president Obama said a few words before announcing Argo as the winner. "They reminded us we can overcome any obstacles if we dig deep enough and hard enough. They are especially important for young people. Every day they engage in the arts, they learn to open their imaginations ... and strive to reach those dreams," he said.

This is the first time ever that a lady or even a president was that matter has presented an award.

The 2012 dramatic thriller film directed by Ben Affleck, is a dramatization of and is based on a 2007 article about the "Canadian Caper".
