Popular actress Mehreen Kaur Pirzada, who is best known among Tamil cinema fans for starring in Dhanush's Pattas, has announced on social media that she has broke off her engagement to Bhavya Bishnoi. Issuing a statement on Twitter, Mehreen stated that the decision is in the best interest and has been taken amicably, while adding that she will continue to give her best in her future projects.

Mehreen wrote, "Bhavya Bishnoi and I have decided to break off our engagement and not go ahead with the wedding. It's a decision that has been taken amicably and in the best interest. With respect in my heart I would like to say that from now on I have no further association with Bhavya Bishnoi, any of his family members or friends. This is the only statement I will be making regarding this and I hope that everyone respects my privacy as this is a very private matter. Meanwhile I will continue to work and am looking forward to giving my best in my future projects and performances."

Having announced in March earlier this year about their plans to get married, Mehreen and Bhavya had posted photos and videos from their engagement on social media. Bhavya is the grandson of Bajaj Lal, who served thrice as the Chief Minister of Haryana when the Congress party was elected to power. As for Mehreen who was last seen in Aswathama in Telugu, she has resumed filming for Manchi Rojulu Vachayi, including joining the team of the multi-starrer F3, which has names like Venkatesh Daggubati, Varun Tej and Tamannaah.
