Earlier in the day, we had reported that had a viral trending photo posted by Amazon Prime Media who had announced that a film called Master would be premiere on the 14th of August. Many fans got excited thinking it was an announcement made for Vijay’s Master. A section of media speculated that Thalapathy’s much anticipated film would have direct OTT release on Amazon Prime coming August 14 for Independence Day weekend. We had informed our readers that the Master team has no plans for a direct OTT release and the announcement should either be about a different film with the same name since Amazon Prime has films of all languages across the globe or it could also be a mistake on Amazon’s side. Now the co-producers of the film have officially confirmed that Master will indeed release only on theatres and not directly on OTT platform like speculated. And they have also confirmed that the movie that Amazon Prime had mentioned in their poster is about a 2016 Korean film with the same name. Seven Screen Studio’s tweet reads as follows: “It is 2016 Korean film #Master listed on Amazon Prime and not #ThalapathyVijay ’s #Master!! We will have a grand theatrical release.”

Seven Screen Studios is one of the fast flourishing production houses in Tamil film industry right now. They have been working on multiple projects at the same time and it is also rumoured that the production house might soon team up with Thalapathy Vijay for a film once again after co-producing Master. The production house is headed by Lalit Kumar who worked as an executive producer is several big budget films in the past. Apart from Master, the production house is busy with films like Tughlaq Durbar and Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal with Vijay Sethupathi, then they have Chiyaan Vikram’s Cobra and also an untitled film directed by Karthik Subbaraj. For sure they are one of the most happening production houses in the industry right now. We wish them all success. Meanwhile, the makers of Master are hoping to release the film for either Diwali 2020 or Pongal 2021.
