Mariyathai gets 'U' certificate
Being a Vikraman film,nobody really thought�Mariyathai would get anything but a�'U' certificate from the Censor Board. But with the elections around the corner and rumours that the movie had a heavy political message, it was feared that the Censor Board might come down hard upon the movie.
“It is a clean family entertainer with no political implications. In fact, the Censor Board congratulated me for making a film that will appeal to the family audiences,” said Vikraman. Mariyathai is about the problems a father faces while bringing up his children. Once again we see Vijaykanth playing father and son�in this movie. While Meena and Meera Jasmine romance the younger Vijayakanth, Ambika plays the wife of father Vijaykanth.
Mariyathai releases on the 24th of April.
