After many hurdles, Bharatbala's Mariyaan is finally getting released on July 19. The film was postponed from June to July to avoid clash with Ambikapathy, the dubbed version of the actor's maiden Bollywood flick Raanjhanaa. This hard-hitting realistic drama is inspired from a real-life incident where Indian fishermen were taken as hostages in Sudan. Mariyaan cleared the Censors with a clean U certificate. Dhanush and Parvathi Menon are the leading stars while music is composed by A.R. Rahman. The film is produced by Ravichadran under  Aascar Films.
