A blockbuster combo, Ajith and director Venkat Prabhu collaborated for the 2011 smash hit, Mankatha, and is one of the most popular films for ‘Thala’ till date.

The black comedy action-crime film went on to become one of the biggest hits in Ajith’s career and showed the superstar acing his character with negative shades to a doiuble thumbs up response from fans.

Ever since Mankatha came out 8 years back, fans have been pitching for a sequel to Venkat Prabhu for which the director recently revealed he has fears to do a part 2 to the film, but revealed that he will definitely work with the star once again with an announcement to be made soon.

Meanwhile, Venkat Prabhu’s younger brother, actor and composer, Premgi Amaren, uploaded a photograph of Ajith and Venkat Prabhu taken recently on his Facebook stories, which has left fans excited and ecstatic over the possibility of the two reuniting again next for a film.

Some state the nature of their meeting was casual, but for Venkat Prabhu to fly to Hyderabad to meet Ajith during the shoot of AK 59 has raised quite a lot of eyebrows on if their collaboration next would be happening.

Although this isn’t a direct confirmation that Ajith and Venkat Prabhu will be coming back together for Mankatha 2 or a completely new film as yet, we can believe they will be working on a project soon as the director had stated at a private event recently and it is now a waiting game for us all.
