National Award-winning actress Manju Warrier stunned fans last year in her Tamil cinema debut, Asuran, opposite Dhanush under Vetri Maaran's direction. The action period drama saw her deliver a power-packed performance, with critics and fans alike getting completely bowled over by her skills. A prominent name in Kerala, Manju Warrier has now been announced to be a part of the upcoming Malayalam film titled, Vellarikkapattanam, and this time opposite Soubin Shahir. Fans in Tamil Nadu will most remember Soubin Shahir for playing the character of Physical Education Lecturer Shivan Sir in the smash hit 2015 Malayalam film, Premam

Being directed by Mahesh Vettiyar, the Vellarikkapattanam first look was released on Sunday by a number of celebrities including Tamil film director Gautham Menon. Taking to his Twitter page, GVM said the film is bound to be a "laugh revolution" and two of his favorites - Manju Warrier and Soubin Shahir - caught his eye. Being produced under the Full On Studios banner, the upcoming family entertainer will reportedly be a social satire set in the present-day. Mahesh Vettiyar is known for co-directing the animation film Swami Ayyappan in 2012. Check out the Vellarikkapattanam first look below: 

Vellarikkapattanam is incidentally the fourth occasion Manju Warrier and Soubin Shahir will be sharing screen space after previously appearing in Malayalam films namely Rani Padmini in 2015, Mohanlal in 2018 including the upcoming Santosh Sivan directorial Jack and Jill. The film will the actress' next in Malayalam after the yet-to-be-released Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham alongside Mohanlal, Mammootty's The Priest, Jack and Jill, the horror venture Chathur Mukham, Padavettu with Nivin Pauly and Sunny Wayne and her own production ventures Kayattam and Lalitham Sundaram, which is being directed by her brother Manju Warrier, 

Although Vellarikkapattanam is billed to be a film laced with plenty of humor, Soubin Shahir, who scored high in Premam with his comedy, has since carved a niche for himself over the years as a talent to reckon with having delivered commendable performances in films such as Sudani from Nigeria, Kumbalangi Nights, Vikruthi and Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 to name a few.
