Ace director Mani Ratnam recently wrapped up the shooting of his most ambitious project, Ponniyin Selvan and the post-production works are happening in full swing. The latest exciting update is that the dubbing work for Ponniyin Selvan is happening right now with the supporting cast and once they complete, the lead actors would dub for their respective portions. Acclaimed classical dancer Vidhya Subramanian, who plays an important role in Ponniyin Selvan, took to her official Instagram page to share the update on the film.

Vidhya sounded highly excited about this new journey of her and her post has now grabbed the attention of the fans. Sharing a picture of her from the dubbing suite, Vidhya Subramanian wrote, "Just came back from dubbing for the first time. On a roll with the out of comfort zone thing 😃 Now for a Varnam to hit the reset button. #ManiRatnam #PonniyinSelvan @madrastalkies @lyca_productions". According to reports, Vidhya Subramanian will be seen playing the character of Vanavan Mahadevi, the mother of Aditya Karikalan (Vikram), Ponniyin Selvan (Jayam Ravi), and Kundhavai (Trisha).

Ponniyin Selvan features an ensemble star cast that includes Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, R Sarath Kumar, Ashwin Kakumanu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aadukalam Kishore, Rahman, Riyaz Khan, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Arjun Chidambaram, and others. Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, the film has music scored by A.R.Rahman, with cinematography and editing handled by Ravi Varman and Sreekar Prasad respectively. Thotta Tharani has taken care of the art direction department.

Ponniyin Selvan is made as a two-part film and the first part of the franchise will hit the screens during the summer of 2022 in a record number of screens.
