The most happening Kollywood filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj is on cloud nine following the rave reviews and record-breaking box office numbers that his latest film Vikram has received. He has made name for himself and has strongly cemented his place as one of the most sought-after filmmakers of Tamil cinema with its massive success. Celebrating the movie's success with fans, the young director initiated a chat session on his Twitter handle and asked fans to open a conversation with #AskDirLokesh.

One fan came and asked the filmmaker, "Other than Thirllers. Which genre Movie you like to do in future @Dir_Lokesh Bro ??? 🤔 #AskDirLokesh", to which Lokesh replied saying, "Fantasy/Dark humour 🙌🏻". The director who has got four films to his name have all belonged to the action thriller genre. So when revealed that he would like to explore the world of fantasy and dark humor, it came as a huge surprise and excitement to all fans. This gives hope that Lokesh Kanagaraj might one day deliver a hilarious dark comedy film or a visual treat along the lines of fantasy.

The release of Vikram has opened up the LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) which also comprises his 2019 film Kaithi. The recently released Vikram was shown as a plot connected to the drug bust that took place in Kaithi. Vikram featured an audio reference to Dilli (Karthi in Kaithi) who seems to have settled in North India. It is rumored that Vikram 2 and Kaithi 2 are being planned as one project. If this happens, it will be the first and biggest crossover event in the history of Tamil cinema.

Overwhelmed by the success of the film, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has gifted Lokesh a luxury Lexus care, a bike to each of the 13 assistant directors, and also a Rolex watch to Suriya who made a cameo appearance as a druglord Rolex.
