Blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram continues to witness housefull shows everywhere even on weekdays as the Kamal Haasan-starrer has taken the box office by storm. The action thriller, which also has 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi as the villain and Fahadh Faasil as a black-ops squad commander, includes a subtle tease of Karthi reprising his role as Dilli from Kaithi in a voiceover, while Suriya was introduced in a power-packed cameo as a drug syndicate kingpin Rolex, with the Master director setting the groundwork for the 'Lokesh Cinematic Universe' (LCU). That being said, a big question many have been asking is why Karthi was not given a cameo similar to Suriya in Vikram, which Lokesh Kanagaraj recently opened on in an interview with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus.

Lokesh Kanagaraj stated, "I didn't want to show all the high points in Vikram itself. I hinted at Dilli's (Karthi) presence here only through his voice because I showed the other characters from Kaithi - Amudha (Baby Monica), Kamatchi (Dheena), and Stephen Raj (Hareesh Peradi). Furthermore, in the future, when Karthi sir and Suriya sir meet, that moment has to be magical. It is the reason why I didn't hold everything in Vikram." Ever since the revelation that Karthi as Dilli in Kaithi and Kamal Haasan as Vikram are a part of the same world aka. the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, the buzz for Kaithi 2 and Vikram 3 has shot up, and fans now are waiting for Lokesh Kanagaraj to complete his works on his next film, Vijay’s Thalapathy 67 (official announcement yet to be made) after which he is expected to kick-start work on the two aforementioned ventures.
