The action thriller also starring 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist and Fahadh Faasil as the commander of a black-ops squad furthermore featured Karthi reprising his role as Dilli from Kaithi in a voiceover, including Suriya making an appearance in a thunderous cameo as the drug cartel kingpin Rolex and thus setting the stage for the highly talked about 'Lokesh Cinematic Universe'. Upon being queried about the significance of Suriya's Rolex drug syndicate and how he built his empire in Vikram over a period of 27 years, Lokesh Kanagaraj implied that the character had risen from the streets at a young age. He added, "Rolex is the ultimate character in that syndicate and the others are basically sub-divisions." Lokesh also declared that Rolex is a "real bad guy." Fans have been raving about Suriya's introduction as the character Rolex, which although short, has been the talk of the town and has created a lot of excitement about the character's role and purpose in the upcoming Kaithi 2 and Vikram 3, both of which have been teased in Vikram.
