Tamil films director Lokesh Kanagaraj is living the dream life unlike any other filmmaker in recent years as he delivered box office blockbusters at every turn with the ventures he has presented so far since his entry into the entertainment industry nearly six years back. Having made heads turn with his directorial debut Maanagaram and following it up with the box office and critical success Kaithi, the filmmaker delivered back-to-back box office money-spinners with 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master and more recently Vikram with 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan. Post the outstanding response to Vikram at the box office, fans have been bombarding Lokesh Kanagaraj with questions after he finished the film on a cliffhanger note connecting it to his second directorial Kaithi and thus establishing the much talked about 'Lokesh Cinematic Universe'.

In that light, Lokesh Kanagaraj recently sat down for an exclusive interview with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, for an analysis of his Vikram where he went on to reveal several interesting facts about the making of the film, while also delving into the process of how he has connected it with Karthi's Kaithi. With Kaithi 2 and Vikram 3 now in hot discussion among fans, the filmmaker opened up by saying, "The foundation for the Kaithi sequel was laid in the first film where Karthi sir is seen walking away towards the end with a bag that has championship cups and trophies his character Dilli won while he was serving his jail sentence." He further revealed, "I didn't explore and decided to cut the portions during the edit as it had the potential for another story. Dilli is a Kabbadi player and the cups he won in jail are the ones he is seen carrying as his prized possessions and sets the base for his backstory as the story of Kaithi ends."
