The recent turn of events after the cruel Delhi rape is a proof that citizens are no more in the mood to give up and are demanding safety for women in our country. Kollywood celebrities have expressed their anger and views on the same through their micro-blogging sites. One of them is Lakshmy Ramakrishnan, who made her directorial debut recently with Aarohanam. She has expressed her interest in making a movie on the importance and dignity of women in our society and has appealed to the big stars of Tamil cinema to support her message in reaching out to the masses.  She further revealed that the story will be about three generations and that she has a producer to back the film too.

Lakshmy added that she will provide the bound script and a dvd of Aarohanam as a testimony to her capacity. If any star liked it, she requested them to be a part of it by giving her the dates required. She says that any film needs the support of a big star to get noticed just like Aamir Khan in the Hindi film Taare Zameen Par. Lakshmy is determined about making this film and will go to Bollywood if she doesn’t get any response in Kollywood. She believes that a film is the only medium which can reach millions of people and can make a difference.
