Veteran actor Arjun and the music director turned actor Vijay Antony joined hands for the venture titled Kolaigaran written and directed by Andrew Louis. The suspense thriller film also has Ashima Narwal, Nassar, Seetha, Bhagavathi Perumal, Gautham, Sathish and Sampath Ram in important roles. The film's music is scored by Simon K King. Kolaigaran is produced by Pradeep under the banner Diya Movies. Kolaigaran hit the screens on June 7thand received positive reviews from the fans. Following Vijay Antony's fame in Tollywood, Kolaigaran also released Telugu under the title Killer.
Months after the release, a new video has been released by the team which has back to back songs from the Telugu version of the film. The first song Mellaga Mellaga is sung by Karthick and Keerthana Vaidyanathan and the second song Champodde Champodde has vocals by Yazir Nizar.
