Karthi's next release in Kollywood will be Viruman which has got high expectations among the fans and film buffs. Viruman is directed by Muthaiya who is collaborating with Karthi for the second time following the success of Komban. Suriya and Jyotika have produced this rural action entertainer which has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The ace composer's first single, 'Kanja Poovu Kannala' has already become a big hit among the masses and the rest of the songs are expected to release on August 3 through a grand audio launch in Madurai.

Legendary filmmaker Shankar's daughter, Aditi Shankar plays the female lead in the film, marking her debut as an actress in Tamil cinema. As the film is gearing up for its release, the makers have now shared an interesting update which has garnered attention on social media. Viruman has cleared the censor process and has been given a U/A certificate by the censor board. The update was shared by Sakthi Film Factory who'd be presenting the film across TN. The makers are yet to officially announce the new release date of the film, but the industry rumours are that the film will be out in theatres on August 11. A formal announcement on the same is awaited.

Suriya and Jyotika have produced this film under the banner of 2D Entertainment and has cinematography handled by SK Selvakumar. Viruman is touted to be an action packed rural entertainer that will cater to all kinds of audiences, especially families. Following Viruman, Karthi will be seen in Mani Ratnam's highly awaited historical epic, Ponniyin Selvan which has got huge expectations. Ponniyin Selvan is set for release on September 30 and it will have a pan Indian release in 5 languages. Apart from Ponniyin Selvan, Karthi also has Sardar which is slated to hit the screens for the festive occasion of Diwali. Happening days ahead for the star actor and his fans!
