The recent demise of young Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who committed suicide, has not only left his ardent fans broken-hearted but also ignited their anger! The issue of nepotism existing in Bollywood has been talked about for long but Sushant's death has reignited this and his fans have been expressing their anger against Salman Khan, Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt. This issue became huge after an old tweet by Kamal R Khan surfaced that Sushant had been blacklisted and avoided by top production houses and Bollywood biggies like Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Yash Raj Films, T-Series and a few others, leading to him going into depression. 2020 has been a very bad year in general with the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic outbreak. However, Indian Cinema has also been going through a bad phase with the loss of a number of leading stars. The suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput has stirred quite the hornet's nest with the issue of "nepotism" rearing its head again. Earlier, Sushant's fans burnt effigies of Salman Khan, Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt, protesting against them, in a village in Patna.
Sushant Singh Rajput have been voicing statements to ban Salman Khan and Karan Johar from the Bollywood industry. There is speculation doing rounds that Karan Johar has been sacked from Akshay Kumar’s upcoming Sooryavanshi. It must be noted that Karan Johar has jointly produced the film along with Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Apoorva Mehta and Rohit Shetty under the production banners Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Picturez, Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films. It was rumoured that Karan Johar has been removed the production based on the allegations against him in nepotism controversy. But contrary to the rumours, Reliance Entertainment has now clarified that Karan Johar is very much part of Sooryavanshi and the speculations are not true.
Sooryavanshi is the fourth installment of Shetty's Police Universe and features Akshay Kumar as the titular character opposite Katrina Kaif. The film co-stars Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh, Niharica Raizada, Jackie Shroff, Sikandar Kher, Nikitin Dheer, Vivan Bhatena and Javed Jaffrey, while Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh reprise their roles of Singham and Simmba from the franchise's previous films. Initially scheduled for release on 24 March 2020, the film was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film will now release by Diwali 2020 as confirmed by the producers.
