Earlier this morning (January 25), popular Kannada actress and former Bigg Boss contestant Jayashree Ramaiah was found dead at an old age home and rehabilitation centre in Bengaluru. According to reports, she is suspected to have died by suicide. The news has created a huge buzz on social media and has come as a shocker for a lot of people. People are sharing their condolence messages on social media. It is said that Jayashree was fighting depression and several other problems for the past few years. More details regarding Jayashree's untimely demise is expected to be known in the next few hours.

Last year, when everyone was mourning the demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June 2020, Jayashree shocked her followers by posting on her Facebook page, "I quit. Goodbye to this f*****g world and depression.". However, the post was deleted in a few minutes and later she wrote, "I'm Alright and safe!! Love you all". In July 2020, Jayashree came on a Facebook Live and in that video, she opened up about her depression. She had said, "I am not doing all of this for publicity sake. I am not expecting financial help from Sudeep sir as well. I am only expecting my death as I am unable to battle depression. I am financially strong but depressed. I have been going through a lot of personal issues. I have been betrayed since childhood and unable to overcome it".

Director Mayuraa Raghavendra who worked with Jayashree in his film, Kannad Gothilla shared that the actress was going through a lot of trauma in her personal life. Talking to Times Of India, the director was quoted as saying, "It is something that no one should go through. She was suffering a lot and it was seen in her attempt to suicide last year as well. We were all hopeful that she would spring back to her usual self when she was getting better in the past few months, where she had even expressed her desire to get back to dancing and acting. This news of her death is shocking and I am yet to come to terms with it,".

For the uninformed, Jayashree Ramaiah has acted in notable Kannada movies like Uppu Huli Khara and Kannad Gothilla. She rose to fame and attained wide popularity after participating in the third season of Bigg Boss: Kannada, hosted by Kichcha Sudeep.
