A film that created immense curiosity was the action comedy caper Sabaash Naidu, starring Kamal Haasan, which the thespian also was directing after T. K. Rajeev Kumar backed out of directorial duties owing to his health condition back in June 2016 when production first kicked off.

Announced amidst much fanfare, Sabaash Naidu, a spinoff to one of the popular characters Balram Naidu, from the blockbuster 2008 film, Dasavatharam, is a joint production of Lyca Productions and Raaj Kamal Films International with music by ‘Maestro’ Ilaiyaraaja.

A major schedule in the United States of America had been wrapped up in quick time in 2016 after which Kamal Haasan fractured his leg leading to an indefinite delay of the project.

Since then, Sabaash Naidu, which was also being made in Telugu and Hindi has been in a limbo with production put on a complete standstill. With fans wondering all this time if it would ever even make it to screens, it looks like the film could indeed resume filming soon.

Kamal Haasan’s elder daughter and actress Shruti Haasan, who is also a part of Sabaash Naidu, has now joined the shoot of Bollywood fillmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar's next gangster drama in Goa alongside Vidyut Jammwal.

It is being now reported that Shruti Haasan is expected to resume filming her portions for Sabaash Naidu once her ongoing Hindi project is wrapped up.
