Earlier this week, reputed producer K.E. Gnanavelraja of Studio Green banner had lodged a complaint with the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) stating actor turned politician and Makkal Needhi Maiam leader Kamal Haasan had acquired a sum of Rs. 10 crores during the release of Uttama Villain in 2015. Gnanavelraja had further stated that Kamal Haasan had given assurances to him for a new film they would work on together, which failed to materialize as the latter did not keep up with his word. That said, an official statement has now been issued by Raaj Kamal Films International's CEO, N. V. Narayanan, which goes on to state that the claims made by the Studio Green chief are blatantly false.

Raaj Kamal Films International’s statement further goes on to say that Kamal Haasan had agreed to produce Uttama Villain on a first copy basis with director Lingusamy’s Tirupati Brothers Film Media Private Limited and had handed over the first copy as per their agreement. The statement further goes on to say that Kamal Haasan had agreed to work on another film for Tirupati Brothers and had made himself available in the second week of May 2015 for story discussions, which eventually failed to proceed further as there was no response thereafter from Linguswamy's side. In conclusion, Raaj Kamal Films state that they are evaluating legal options against all those who are planning to defame Kamal Haasan’s reputation. Check out the full statement below:
