Vidya Balan's blockbuster hit film Kahaani will be remade in English as Deity. The film will be directed by Niels Arden Oplev of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo fame. The original directed by Sujoy Ghosh received recognition and honours. Also Vidya's role was well appreciated. The film will be produced by YRF entertainment and will be picturised in Kolkata. The film will focus on an American woman who comes to Kolkata in search of her husband. The film is expected to go on floors next year.
