Perhaps the biggest release of 2018, ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth’s Kaala is all set to arrive in a grand manner starting tomorrow (June 7) across the world.

That being said, the debate surrounding the Kaala release controversy has not simmered down yet with the Pa. Ranjith directorial produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films banner still facing issues in Karnataka.

Meanwhile, Ranjith in an interview has now shared his feelings behind the whole Kaala release controversy calling it an effort of a select few people portraying it as a public opinion.

The Kabali director then cited how the Bollywood film, Padmaavat, too faced similar issues despite being censored by the CBFC and had to go through a lot.

He then went on to state that once a film has been cleared by the censor board, it is open for release and debates can be done based on its content.

Ranjith then asserted saying Rajinikanth expressing his opinion regarding the Cauvery Management Board cannot be held as a reason to not release and called it an undemocratic act.

In conclusion, the filmmaker went on to state the whole Kaala release controversy has only caused anguish and is nothing more than a political stunt.

To stop Kaala from releasing suggests the power of these elements and that people opposing the film is highly unlikely.
