“Out of all the scripts that I have done so far, this is the closest to my heart, I got a different kind of power after wearing that Lawyer’s court. We can’t cheat the audience with a few actions or stunt scenes. This script is filled with nothing but words, so we will have to be very sure about what we talk, you will see the power of words while watching the film. Frankly, I have not gone inside a court before, but I have seen a lot of courtroom dramas in the past. And Fredrick has done a lot of homework, I think he has worked on the script for over 1 year.

Regarding the decision to release Ponmagal Vandhal directly on OTT, Jyothika said, “it is a decision that we made only because of Corona lockdown and we also felt that women-centric films and small films are being respected on OTT, so we felt it is a fair platform to release on film on Amazon during this crisis. I personally feel that OTT will take cinema to the next level. You cannot compare a small film and female centric film to a male superstar film, our films are not recognized much by the theatre audience, the footfall is comparatively very less, in that way, these OTT platform gives an edge to small and female centric films. And through Amazon, this film will be reaching 200 countries across the world, in that way, it is a very very big reach for us. OTT has a wide reach and that will definitely be a big boost to us”
