Jyotika recently expressed her disappointment over the lack of proper infrastructure in Thanjavur Government Hospital and School and requested people to do their best to equip the place with basic necessities. She asked people to donate money to Government Hospitals and schools just like how they donate for temples and Gods. However, her speech was blown up by a section of people who created a controversy out of it. Having said that, Jyotika has now made a generous donation of Rs 25 lakhs for the development of Thanjavur Government Hospital and the donation was handed over to Tamil Nadu Health Minister C Vijayabaskar.

This contribution from Jyotika towards the renovation of Thanjavur Government Hospital is remarkable and appreciable. This action from Jyotika comes as a solid reply to the people who opposed her speech a few months before. Director Era Saravanan who is working with Jyotika in his next film tweeted, “சர்ச்சை கிளப்பியவர்கள் அன்றோடு அமைதியாகி விட்டார்கள்.

The tweet is loosely translated as, “People who created controversies that day have subsided. Only those who cared are still active today. Jyotika donates Rs 25 Lakhs to Thanjavur Government Raja Mirasudar Hospital. 'I bow my head to Jyotika's social concern' praised Thanjavur Collector Govindarao”. This noble gesture from Jyotika has indeed made people admire her for living up to her words.

On the work front, Jyotika was last in the courtroom drama, Ponmagal Vandhal which received mixed to decent reviews from critics and fans. The general audience appreciated the film for its noble intent and message. Up next, she would be seen playing the lead role in director Era Saravanan’s (of Kathukutty fame) untitled next, co-starring Sasikumar, Samuthirakani, Soori, Nivedhithaa Sathish, Vela Ramamoorthy and others. This rural drama, which is produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, has music scored by D Imman, cinematography by Velraj and editing by Ruben.

Only while shooting for this film in Thanjavur, Jyotika got to see the lack of facilities in Government Hospital and schools there. The talented actor is also in talks for her next set of projects for which we can expect announcements after the pandemic. For now, check out director Era Saravanan's post below:
