Jyothika was last seen in Mani Ratnam's Chekka Chivantha Vaanam and Radhamohan's Kaatrin Mozhi. Both the films managed to do well at the box office, with positive reviews from the audience and critics. Her next release would be Raatchasi, directed by debutante Sy.Gowtham Raj and produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. The makers have now released the first single from the film and it is called Rekka Namakku. This song is crooned by Srinidhi in Sean Roldan's composition with lyrics penned by Gowtham Raj.

The song has some inspiring lines in the lyrics that encourage young children to be active and independent. A new set of stills featuring Jyothika is also seen in this lyric video. The trailer of the film which released three weeks back looked promising and socially concerning. Jyothika plays a school teacher in the film who guides her students in the right way and who also raises questions against the mishaps inside the management of a school.

Jyothika's relationship with her students is expected to be a major high point in the film. Jyo's makeover and look was mature in the trailer. We would have to wait until the film's release to know how the film pans out to be. On the technical front, Raatchasi has music by Sean Roldan, cinematography by Gokul Benoy, and editing by Philomin Raj.

The rest of the songs are expected to come out in the coming days. The film is apparently scheduled to release on June 28, alongside Yogi Babu's Dharma Prabhu. For now, check out the first single from Raatchasi.
