We were first introduced to the world of dinosaurs and given a big glimpse back in 1994. It has been 28 years since Steven Spielberg delivered this larger-than-life masterpiece, which is why the Jurassic franchise is still running to date. The first three Jurassic Park films, the classics, were extraordinary. It redefined cinema thanks to the techniques used to carry out the special effects. Through animatronic robots, Spielberg was able to bring the dinosaurs to life, which made the whole visual experience realistic, especially by the standards of the time. The Jurassic Park series was ultimately rebooted with a new cast but stuck to its roots. With two installments out already in the Jurassic World Franchise, we are now getting the final part of this trilogy. Titled Jurassic World: Dominion, the upcoming film is supposedly the end to both Jurassic Park and Jurassic World trilogies and, will be bringing back our lead actors. Although this is the end of an era, it is also the beginning of a new one and we can expect more films in the franchise to come out in the future.
During an interview with /Film, producer Frank Marshall, who has served as a producer on all three Jurassic World movies, revealed that Jurassic World: Dominion is not the end for the Jurassic World franchise. He described Dominion as being the potential "start of a new era" for the Jurassic property. "The dinosaurs are now on the mainland amongst us, and they will be for quite some time, I hope," he added, leaving the door open for more adventures with not just the dinosaurs, but possibly also certain humans from past Jurassic films.
With Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous on Netflix going strong after four seasons, it doesn't seem like anyone wants this franchise to wither out anytime soon. Therefore, it is safe to assume that much work and effort will be put forth in order to keep the franchise alive. Jurassic World: Dominion will open in theatres on June 10, 2022, with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprising their respective roles. Joining the cast are the trio from Spielberg's original trilogy: Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern.
