The news of Jayam Ravi and Ahmed coming together for yet another project after their Jana Gana Mana has been in discussion for quite some time now. It was earlier reported that their second venture together will feature leading South Indian actress Nayanthara as the female lead. Ahmed had revealed to Times of India that the film will be a psychological thriller, with plans to kick start the shooting this month itself. As of now, there is no word on the production banner and the rest of the cast and crew for Jayam Ravi and Ahmed's next film, and an announcement is expected sometime soon.

As for their Jana Gana Mana, the film will see Jayam Ravi sharing screen space with leading Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu and will incidentally be her next venture in Tamil after 2021’s Annabelle Sethupathi opposite 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi. The rest of the cast for the film includes Malayalam actor Rahman, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam heroine Dayana Erappa, M. S. Bhaskar, KGF villain Ramachandra Raju among others, with the music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Apart from Jana Gana Mana, Jayam Ravi is currently working on his Agilan opposite Priya Bhavani Shankar under Bhooloham fame N Kalyana Krishnan's direction. He is also portraying the Chola emperor Arulmozhivarman in ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam's highly-anticipated epic historical fiction film Ponniyin Selvan: I, which is scheduled to open in theatres worldwide on September 30.
