Jayam Raja's Thillalangadi is ready

Remake king Jayam Raja's next film Thillalangadi is ready. Thillalangadi is a remake of the super hit Telugu movie Kick. Jayam Ravi and Tamannaah plays the lead roles and Shaam reprises his role from the original.

“Factors like piracy and the fast lifestyles that people lead today have brought down the lifespan of a film to three or four weeks. My ambition is to draw the various categories of audiences to the theatres within this time period. So just wait and watch. Be it the masses, the youth or the family crowd -- this film is sure to pull all of them to the theatres. In fact, I’m willing to even challenge you on this count,” he said to a leading English daily.

“While Kick was known more as a fun film than a romantic film, Thillalangadi, which is a remake of Kick, will be known for romance as well as for its fun content. There are several love stories which deal with the problems faced by lovers from external sources. However, there are very few films which talk about the internal problems of lovers. In Thillalangadi, I’ve highlighted the problems that arise between lovers as a result of ego clashes. I’ve tried to explain where one must put a full stop to ego in a relationship. The whole idea has been conveyed in a light-hearted fashion. It’s a film with a happy ending but you’ll get a message from it,” he added.

After Thillalangadi, Jayam Rajais all set to direct Ilayathalapathi Vijay. “Oh, several. As of now, I will be working with Ilayathalapathi Vijay. It’s going to be a big entertainer and the subject demands a big production cost. The film, titled Velayudham, will also star Hansika Motwani and Genelia D’Souza. Work on this project is bound to begin even before the release of Thillalangadi. Talks have been happening for over an year and this is a big challenge for me,” he revealed.
