National Award-winning Tamil filmmaker and actor R. Parthiban's next big ambitious venture, Iravin Nizhal, which is billed to be the world's first non-linear single-shot feature film, had its trailer released on Sunday evening. Announced to open in theatres worldwide on June 24, the much-awaited film features music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman and is being presented under blockbuster producer-distributor Kalaipuli S. Thanu's V Creations banner. Iravin Nizhal is yet another big ambitious filmmaking attempt from Parthiban after his critically-acclaimed 2019 film Oththa Seruppu Size 7, which earned him his third National Award, with the first glimpse from the trailer for the upcoming film giving fans a look at the interesting visual feast that is awaited in theatres.

Certified by the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records as the World's first non-linear single-shot film, Iravin Nizhal is described to be "a path-breaking effort in filming through an enormous set of 59 settings, with over 300 actors, 150 technicians, numerous costumes and makeup changes, through 50 years of time period all beautifully choreographed into one single shot and achieved after a whopping 90 days of rehearsals." Up until now, there have been only a handful of single-shot films with linear screenplays made around the world and Parthiban has gone one step further in making Iravin Nizhal in a non-linear pattern.

Apart from starring in the lead role and directing Iravin Nizhal, Parthiban has penned the story, screenplay, and dialogues, with Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Robo Shankar, Priyanka Ruth, Brigida Saga, Sneha Kumar, Anand Krishnan, Chandru, and others forming the supporting cast. Produced by Parthiban's Bioscope LLP in association with Akira Productions, the film's technical crew features Oscar-winning sound editor Craig Mann, followed by Cottalango Leon as the VFX Supervisor, cinematographer Arthur A. Wilson, and art director RK Vijai Murugan.
