Popular Tamil director R Ravikumar's mother has passed away recently and the news was shared by Ravikumar's close friends and directors Gaurav Narayanan (of Sigaram Thodu and Ippadai Vellum fame) and ARK Saravan (Maragadha Naanayam fame). Gaurav took to his Twitter page to express his heartfelt condolences to Ravikumar. Sharing director Ravikumar's family picture, Gaurav Narayanan wrote, "என் நண்பர் & இயக்குனர் ரவிக்குமார் அவர்களின் தாயார் உடல்நலக்குறைவால் காலமானார்.. என் ஆழ்ந்த இரங்கல்கள். RIP". Gaurav's tweet is loosely translated in English as, "My friend and director Ravikumar's mother passed away due to illness. My deepest condolences. RIP".

Similarly, director ARK Saravan posted, "நண்பர் ரவிக்குமார் அவர்களின் தாயார் உடல்நலக்குறைவால் காலமானார்.. ஆழ்ந்த இரங்கல்கள்..". Several notable personalities from the film industry are mourning the unfortunate demise of Ravikumar's mother and at this juncture, Galatta Media expresses its deepest condolences to Ravikumar and his family and prays for the departed soul to rest in peace. Details regarding the cremation and final rites are yet to be known.

On the professional front, director Ravikumar's next film is Ayalaan that stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role. Ayalaan is a sci - fi thriller that is based on the theme of alien invasion and it is an ambitious project that has excited the fans ever since its announcement. Ayalaan is produced by RD Raja's 24 AM Studios, in association with Kotapadi J Rajesh's KJR Studios and it has music scored by the legendary AR Rahman. The ace composer has delivered a chartbuster single already, titled 'Vera Level Sago' and it has received an overwhelming response from the fans and music lovers. The shooting of Ayalaan was completed in the beginning of this year and the makers are currently busy with the post production works which are happening at full swing.

Ayalaan, being a sci-fi film, has a lot of shots involving CG (Computer Graphics) and VFX and those works are currently underway. Ayalaan features Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead, while Isha Koppikar makes a comeback to Tamil cinema and she is said to have got an interesting role to play. The film's star cast also includes Karunakaran, Yogi Babu, Sharad Kelkar, Bhanupriya, Bala Saravanan, and others. The film has cinematography handled by ace lensman Nirav Shah, while the editing is done by Ruben.
