Galatta.com wishes our readers a very happy Ramzan! Today is Eid, which marks the end of Ramdan (the holy month); it signifies the breaking of the fasting period, with the sighting of a new crescent moon in the evening, on the last day of 'Ramzan'.
All of a sudden, being a long weekend, 5 new films have graced theatres, this week alone in Tamil! Movies like Attakathi and Naan, released on Independence Day, and have been doing very well. Following this, 3 other movies, Pandi Oliperukki Nilayam, Poovampatti and Edho Seidhai Ennai, released on Friday. All of a sudden, there has been a major rush to release movies, and all 5 movies, have no major stars. However, Attakathi and Naan, which released earlier than the other 3, have taken very good openings, and the business is expected to pick up today! Maybe, the lack of big star movies for competition has helped these movies! Good going K-town!
