The State Government's initiative to provide better learning facilities for the Government school students has resulted in many schools getting computers and projectors for the students to learn by watching videos. Many Government school students are benefiting by learning via new mediums. However, the usage of this technology has now landed a Government school teacher, in trouble. In a school run by the Tamil Nadu State Government in a small village called Sittheripattu near Thirukoviloor, the classes have been equipped with computers and projector screens.

Government school teacher suspended for playing Nanban in Class

A computer teacher from this school, named Edward Victor Babu, has reportedly played Thalapathy Vijay's movie Nanban for the students. Edward is a teacher for students from Class 1 to Class 5 and he is said to have played this movie for all these classes. A complaint was registered with the Education Department authorities. When the authorities enquired about this, they came to know that this was indeed true. Following this inquiry, the authorities have now placed Edward Victor Babu, under suspension.

Details of why the teacher played this movie in the classrooms are yet to be known. Some reports suggest that the teacher thought this might be a motivational movie for students to pursue their dreams. Nanban, starring Vijay, Jiiva, Srikanth and Ileana in the lead roles, was directed by Shankar and is the remake of the super hit Bollywood movie 3 Idiots, which had Aamir Khan in the lead.
