New York City police arrested a man named Brian Boyd on Thursday in connection to veteran Hollywood actress Lisa Banes' hit-and-run accident on June 4. She was 65. Boyd, 26, was arrested and charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian and walking away from the scene of the incident, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) said in a statement. Banes, known prominently for her role in David Fincher's blockbuster psychological thriller film, Gone Girl, was struck by an electric scooter on Manhattan's Upper West Side near Lincoln Center as she was crossing Amsterdam Avenue on the way to visit the Juilliard School, her alma mater. The police have said that Boyd's address is listed as an apartment on Amsterdam.

Lisa Banes had sustained severe brain injuries after the accident and passed away a week later after being admitted to the intensive care unit at the Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital. "We are heartsick over Lisa's tragic and senseless passing. She was a woman of great spirit, kindness and generosity and dedicated to her work, whether on stage or in front of a camera and even more so to her wife, family and friends. We were blessed to have had her in our lives," Banes’ manager David Williams said in a heartfelt statement.

A resident of Los Angeles, Lisa Banes was married to Kathryn Kranhold, a contributing reporter for the Center for Public Integrity, and made notable appearances in several television shows and films. Apart from starring in the Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike-starrer Gone Girl, Banes was seen in Tom Cruise's Cocktail in 1988 and appeared on TV shows like Nashville, Madam Secretary, Masters of Sex and NCIS
