It has been nearly two weeks since the title for Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film was revealed to be Chekka Chivantha Vaanam in Tamil and Nawab in Telugu.

A joint production of Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners with music by A. R. Rahman, no details have surfaced regarding the film’s plot or its characters.

Meanwhile, actor Aishwarya Rajesh, who is playing one of the primary roles in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, recently in an exclusive interview with Galatta spoke about her experiences so far with Mani Ratnam and the rest of the cast.

The actor revealed the second day of her shooting with Simbu was on February 14 on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, for which she wished and complimented him for the amount of hard work the multi-talented star had put in to tone his physique for his role.

Regarding why Mani Ratnam decided not include any of the female leads’ faces in the poster, Aishwarya said the director has his own vision and that there is a reason to everything he does.

She further went on to reveal an interesting incident saying cast members including herself, Simbu and Jyothika were quite immersed in the film’s shoot and, had completely forgotten about Valentine’s Day. It was then when around five kids aged 4-5 years wished the cast and this left Mani Ratnam both surprised and shocked, who later went on to say the present-day generation is much ahead of them all.

This statement now confirms Chekka Chivantha Vaanam includes five kids in its cast. As known already, Mani Ratnam has included children as primary characters in his previous films namely Anjali, Bombay and Kannathil Muthamittal and we can expect them to be shown with the same emphasis once again in his upcoming film.

Chekka Chivantha Vaanam has Simbu, Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh, Arun Vijay, Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Prakash, Aditi Rao Hydari and Appani Sarath as its central star cast. Although no release date been announced as of now, we can expect the film to come towards the end of this year or early 2019.
