ESPN Colombia anchor Carlos Orduz escaped unhurt and sustained only minor injuries after a piece of the studio set fell on him during a live broadcast on Tuesday. Orduz, who was joined by a few other announcers during the taping of a show, was slammed against the desk where he was sitting by a piece of the studio set on his back. The video of the incident has since taken social media by storm, with viewers shocked at the visuals and sending their wishes to the popular anchor for a speedy recovery. Orduz later took to his Twitter page to inform people that he only suffered a few bruises and a blow to the nose, but was doing fine overall.

The taping was during a discussion of the Italian Serie A football club Juventus' elimination from the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday when the loud crash interrupted the live broadcast. The camera immediately pans directly to co-host Francisco Javier Velez, who was leading the discussion prior to the studio set crashing on Orduz. The visuals clearly show Velez being caught off guard by the accident, with the camera focusing on his frightened expression for the next few moments before he manages to gather his composure and head off to a commercial break.

ESPN Colombia was quick to inform viewers that Orduz was administered treatment by medical personnel immediately. The popular sports announcer as well shortly after tweeted that he only sustained bruises and a blow to the nose (no fracture). He also expressed his gratitude to all those shared their concerns and wrote, "To those who wrote to me and greeted me about the accident last night, I must tell you that I am fine, thank God after the medical checkup of the respective examinations, any issue was ruled out, only a bruise and a blow to the nose." Orduz, a few hours later, posted a video of himself assuring viewers that he has been doing fine since the studio set collapsed on him. The ESPN Colombia presenter was seen standing upright in the video message, with his regular enthusiasm once again visible.
